The Appalachia Service Project makes homes warmer, safer, drier, while transforming lives. Appalachia Service project is a home repair ministry through which volunteers and our staff repair homes in rural Central Appalachia. Community in Christ supports this effort through member donations of not only money, but also time, talent and hard work.

 


Coat Mission - The Coat Mission provides adult and childrens' coats to people in our area that are in need! Through donations and purchases, this mission helps approximately twenty families annually.

Maggie & Erma's is a christian based, non profit, nine to twelve month program for women recovering from alcohol and drug abuse. Community in Christ provides financial help, as well as, material donations.

A ministry of area churches in Guilford county. Inasmuch is an ecumenical Christian group yoked together to provide food and clothing to the less fortunate.

Working with the Housing Authority, Inasmuch collects and distributes food and clothing once a month with plans to expand the effort as more churches become involved.

Presbyterian Counseling Center - The PCC provides a ministry of counseling which combines psychoterapy with the church's traditional pastoral care of people in distress. The PCC serves the entire community without regard to denominational affiliation.

Community in Christ collects non perishable food weekly and delivers it once a month to the Greensboro Urban Ministry. In addition we also provide periodic financial support. Weaver House is a homeless shelter operated by G.U.M. , wherein volunteers from Community in Christ serve once a month.


Local Meals-On-Wheels and other non-profit meal organizations are set up all over the world, and they help fill the need that many frail and recovering seniors have by providing nutritious meals. Most are in need of volunteers and funding to help provide meals to seniors.

Meals on Wheels programs and other Senior Meal organizations are looking for help from people whose duty of service to seniors, and a desire to give back to their community give them the inspiration to share some of their time with those that need it most. Community in Christ helps by delivering meals to shut-ins every fifth week.

Angel Tree Gifts - Names of the people on our Mobile Meals route are tagged to a Christmas Tree. Members of the church can select a name and purchase a gift to be delivered the week of Christmas.

The Greensboro Crop Walk supports worldwide hunger programs, Church World Service, as well as, the programs of The Greensboro Urban Ministry.

 

 

Adopted Local Family - Community in Christ adopts a local family and makes a commitment similar to those of the Appalachia Service Project, to make their home warmer, safer and drier.

Our mission to the Presbyterian Campus Ministry of Greensboro provides opportunities for fellowship, worship, service, Christian growth and aids in enriching the life of our denomination among the students. It is included in our budget, and we also provide an evening meal for their gatherings.
