Events
At Community in Christ, Presbyterian, our events are central to who we are. We believe that building a strong community starts with opportunities to gather, share, and support one another as we give back to the Greensboro area. Whether it’s through worship, fellowship, or service, there is a place for you to get involved. Our Regular Gatherings include:
- Worship Services: Join us every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for worship.
- Second Hour: Following our Sunday service, we offer educational opportunities for both adults and children, creating space for deeper learning and community connection.
- Exercise Groups: We host exercise sessions in the Fellowship Hall Thursdays at 5:00 pm as a way to stay active together.
- Choir & Music: Our choir rehearses starting at 8:30 a.m. and typically performs twice a month during the choir season.
Seasonal & Special Events
Our calendar shifts with the seasons, offering unique opportunities to celebrate our faith and our community:
- Christmas Traditions: We celebrate the Advent and Christmas season with special events, including the Live Nativity, our annual Christmas Cantata, candlelight services, and the cherished children's Christmas play.
- Easter Celebrations: From Sunrise Services to Easter Sunday worship, we joyfully mark the season with community-wide gatherings and egg hunts.
- VBS & Youth Programs: Our Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a highlight of the summer, offering a fun and impactful experience for children. We also have active youth programs, including PYF (Presbyterian Youth Fellowship), which meets regularly for fellowship and service projects.
Service & Outreach Events
Our commitment to the community is lived out through hands-on service. We regularly partner with local organizations to make a difference:
- Greensboro Urban Ministry (GUM): We support the GUM food pantry through regular collections and food drives.
- Steps of Hope: A long-standing tradition where we come together to support the fight against hunger.
- Mobile Meals: We participate in the delivery of meals to senior adults, often serving as a friendly point of connection for those we serve.
- Red Cross Blood Drives: We periodically open our doors to host community blood drives.
- Seasonal Outreach: Throughout the year, we host various drives, such as the and holiday gift collections like our Angel Tree program for Meals on Wheels Clients and the Gingerbread tree for Preschool Gifts.
